hether you have been developing your practice or are new to meditation, it can be helpful to meditate with others. A gathering of like-minded people has its own unique energy and your practice can be deepened by the magnified effort of the group.

You are invited to join Claire Mondays and Thursdays for meditation in the Gathering Place in Blind Bay, BC. In Spring and Autumn, we will also offer one-day meditation retreats. Watch for information under Events. You are welcome to contact Claire for more details.

editation is a way to make the mind more steady and clear. Rather than a way out, it is a way in. It is done with the specific intention of experiencing life just as it is and dealing with what you find. It does not belong to any particular religion or spirituality but it is a practice anyone can do. Rather than "zoning" out and being absent for awhile, meditating allows you to become more aware of who you really are. Meditation is an ongoing process of self-discovery and takes dedication and personal effort. It is not about getting somewhere but focuses on getting it wherever you happen to be.

editation is called the Great Teacher. The purpose is personal transformation. By making you more aware of your own thoughts, words and deeds, you understand yourself. In doing so, you begin to understand others. You mind becomes still and calm, your fear and worry are reduced, and you are better prepared to meet the challenges in living each day.
